The Police Regional Office 7 remains steadfast to its core value of Makakalikasan (environment-friendly) centered on respect for private/public properties and protection and conservation of the environment to maintain ecological balance.
On February 3, 2021, in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 7 and the concerned Local Government Units, your Amigo Cops conducted Tree Planting Activity at Barangay Gaas in Balamban, Cebu.
PBGEN RONNIE S MONTEJO, PRO7 Regional Director and the Command Group had graced the said activity.
The event showcased the importance of promoting environmental conservation in Central Visayas. This also acknowledges the importance of cooperation in order to achieve the goals of the PNP Chief’s initiative and also supports DENR in achieving the objectives of its respective mandates.
Subsequently, a commitment pledge was signed by both parties, the Police Regional Office 7 and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources 7. Stating therein that both government agencies remain faithful to the covenant and further pledged to protect the trees planted for a quality environment and sustainable natural resources.
In his message, PBGEN MONTEJO said that as police officers and public servants protecting human lives and protecting the environment is of equal importance.
“Masandigan ta sa tanang butang ilabi na sa pag atiman sa kalikupan ug sa kaugmaon sa atong pamilya,” he added.
A total of 300 fruit bearing plants were planted in the above-said area. Likewise, respective CPOs/PPOs/RMFB also conducted their tree planting activities since this activity was conducted simultaneously.
